Kim Suter

Kim Suter is a Baltimore-based artist who is known for her mixed-media works on paper.

She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in 1995 and exhibited in galleries and artist collectives from the late 1990s through the early 2000s before taking time off to raise her son.

Returning to making and exhibiting her art in 2022, Kim works in a variety of media to create intimate works on paper that explore the human form and its relationship to grief, healing, mortality, and transformation.

Her current series combines human anatomy inspired by medical illustrations with botanical imagery and its medicinal, spiritual and mythological meanings. Through the intertwining of these elements, she creates a visual conversation about healing using a variety of media, including graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, watercolor, pastel, gouache, and fine art papers.
